The Broad College of Business at Michigan State University will be hosting an event on Oct. 4 from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. that focuses on the growing field of data analysis and how it is shaping the future.
The conference, “Analytics 2013: The Face of Analytics,” is free and open to the public. It will include a panel discussion from 1 p.m.-2 p.m.,in which analytics professionals will talk about their roles and how to prepare for a career as a data scientist. Panelists from Google, The Weather Channel, Kellogg Company, GM, J.D. Power, IBM and other companies will then explain how they use data to answer key questions from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. The career fair, which runs throughout the conference, will include recruiters from companies interested in hiring analytics professionals. At 4 p.m., there will be an information session about the MSU Master of Science program in business analytics.
All sessions will be held at the MSU James B. Henry Center for Executive Education in Lansing, Mich.
